The analogous plot to Figure 9 in the paper, but instead of varying density, redshift is varied at nH=10-4 cm-3 for solar enriched gas. Time histories of OVI and CIV ionisation fractions, cooling efficiency, and temperature are shown for PINe isochoric cases assuming a static field for 1.5 Gyrs. A stronger background (at higher z) suppresses cooling more and asymptotes to higher equilibrium temperatures where higher ions exist more readily. The approach to an equilibrium temperature is the greatest difference between the PINe cases and the CINe case (grey). The gas starts at T=106 K at t=0.
