A radiatively cooling cloud with 108 Msolar and solar metallicity under photo-ionised non-equilibrium PINe conditions, exposed to a z=1 HM01 EGB. Ionisation fractions are in the top panel, timescales in the middle panel, and cooling plus density are in the bottom panel. This case assumes isobaric cases if the sound crossing timescale is less than the cooling timescale, and isochoric for the reverse. When the cloud temperature approaches the peak of the cooling curve, isochoric conditions take over.
